This Privacy Policy explains how Law Ninjas Pty Ltd (ABN 61 693 695 493) (Law Ninjas, we, us) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information. We are based in Sydney, Australia and our community spans six continents, so this policy is written to address the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where it applies to you, the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation.
By using lawninjas.co, attending a Ninja event, or joining Ninja Club, Ninja Elite or the Ninja Network, you agree to this policy.
We collect only what we need to run the community. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
We do not deliberately collect sensitive information. Where you volunteer dietary or accessibility requirements for an event, we use that solely to host you properly and delete it after the event.
We do not take payment details on this website. Payments are processed by Stripe, and ticketing by SimpleTix. We never see or store your full card number.
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for marketing, on the performance of a contract for memberships and event registrations, on our legitimate interests in running and improving the community, and on legal obligation where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:
Law Ninjas operates globally and our service providers are located in a number of countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, India, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Brazil. By providing your information you acknowledge it may be transferred to and stored in countries whose privacy laws differ from those in your own. We take reasonable steps to ensure any recipient handles your information consistently with this policy.
We keep cookies to a minimum. No cookies are set when you first arrive. Nothing is stored and nothing is tracked unless you choose “Accept analytics” on the banner that appears on your first visit.

These record which pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you use. Your IP address is anonymised. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not sell this data, and we do not attempt to identify you personally from it.
Whichever choice you make, we store a single record of that choice in your browser's local storage under the name lnConsent, so we do not have to ask you again on every page. It contains nothing but your answer and is not sent to us or to anyone else.
Changing your mind. Select Cookie Settings in the footer of any page, or use the link in the footer below, and the banner will reappear so you can choose again. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, or opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser add-on.
Two other services may set cookies when you interact with them: YouTube, for the videos on our home page, which uses privacy-enhanced mode and sets nothing until you press play; and Google Drive, which hosts the embedded Ninja guides. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as long as the law requires. Financial records are kept for seven years, as required by the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), and tax records for at least five years as required by the Australian Taxation Office. Event attendance records are generally kept for two years. If you leave the community and ask us to, we will delete what we are not legally required to retain.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. This includes access controls, encrypted connections, and choosing reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We send event invitations and community updates to members and to people who have asked to hear from us. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by e-mailing us. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential messages about a membership or an event you have registered for.
Law Ninjas is a professional community for practising lawyers. Our services are not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page with the date it was last updated. Material changes will be notified to members by e-mail.
